ICE students and chefs marched in yesterday’s Columbus Day Parade here in New York City. Every year, the parade celebrates Italian-American heritage and people from across New York City come to watch and participate in the parade down Fifth Avenue. This year, ICE students and Director of Student Affairs Chef Andy Gold were invited to participate by Ornella Fado, the host of Brindiamo! on NYC TV, a show highlighting Italian restaurants in NYC. The weather was unseasonably warm and the atmosphere joyous, as the students and chefs happily walked from 72nd St. to 47th St. It was an opportunity to celebrate, Italy, New York and the wonderful cuisine of both.
